Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué i Bernabeu was born on February 2, 1987, in Barcelona, Spain, and is most recognized as the center-back for FC Barcelona and boyfriend of Colombian singer Shakira. He began his soccer career on FC Barcelona's youth team and made his professional debut with Manchester United in 2004, before signing a $6 million, four-year contract with FC Barcelona on May 27, 2008.
