Michael Ballack born 26 September 1976 in Görlitz, a town in the historical region: Upper Lusatia and Silesia, present-day in the Free State of Saxony. is currently a free agent.He is a professional German footballer.He is one of the top goal scorers in the history of his international team.He is worn by number 13 .In the Year of 2002 Ballack was selected by Pele as one of FIFA's 100 Greatest Living Players.In 2002, 2003 and 2005 he has won the German Footballer of the Year award.

  Ballack was known for his passing range, scoring ability, ball skills and commanding presence in the midfield.At Chemnitz he began his career as a youth. In 1995 he made his professional debut.In 1998–99 season he became a first team regular and also earned his first senior national cap for Germany.In 1999 he moved to Bayer Leverkusen for €4.1 million.

He proved to be an influential figure in the midfield as Germany came back from a shock defeat to Croatia to make it to the final, scoring a free kick against Austria to secure Germany a 1–0 win and a place in the quarter-finals.Ballack has played international level at the European Championships in 2000, 2004 and 2008, and the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and 2006.
